Eye to Eye with Gustav Klimt

For the first time it was possible to have a close look at the wonderful works of Gustav Klimt as a young artist. In the stairwell of the Kunsthistorisches Museum, the Klimt Bridge, 12 meters was  built, in addition to the exceptional murals of the then 28 -year-old Gustav Klimt. One of a kind, in museum architecture.

They were painted and glues to the wall  in 1891, in oil on canvas, six months before the museum was opened. The murals have been preserved in their original state and have never been preserved or restored.
