When Anna Netrebko became the patron for the children's Opera, The Snow Queen, in the Esterhazy Palace she took the following quote to heart: "opera should be an unforgettable experience for children.”
For this project from the heart, the castle and the Baroque Haydn Hall, was transformed for for the show by stage designer Christian Tabakoff. The icy palace of the Snow Queen was built, with great attention to detail, in the creative workshops of Winter Artservice. The combination of deft scenography and lighting allowed visitors to feel the cold through ice and snow even in the Pannonian summer.
